LND LAB is partnering with the Portland Botanical Gardens to create a research structure for the non-profit so that students, researchers, and community members interested in studying the McCormick & Baxter superfund site can access historical records, site plans, monitoring reports, and operational infrastructure. Beginning with a UAS survey and multi-spectral analysis of the site, LND LAB prepared detailed Existing Conditions and Botanical Inventory drawings, and generated early phasing plans of the garden and public waterfront concept. Michael is also currently serving as a liaison to three University of Oregon Graduate students who are focusing their independent master’s projects on the development of a botanical garden and public greenway at M&B.
